Currently working towards a masters degree in cyber security. Course work includes java programming, network programming using CISCO systems, software security, and open source systems (RHEL9, Ubuntu, XRDP, LAMP, Python, Samba, PHP, MySQL).
Achieved a masters degree in information systems with a focus on database systems. Course work followed the path of a database administrator, from database design, to data block allocations, DDL, DML and DCL.
Began my career with the ROTC detachment at Texas A&M University. This program was a 24/7 intensive leadership development laboratory, helping all cadets learn the basics of earning trust and team work. Started in the USAF in 1997 as an Air Battle Manager, becoming an expert in radar and communications employment, as well as expertise in friendly and enemy weapons systems (fighters, SAM systems, ship systems, PATRIOT etc.). Branched into flight test and evaluation, working with the Boeing Company on development of new sensor technologies, information systems, and Next Generation Identification Friend or Foe.
In 2017 I began working at Los Alamos National Laboratory as an IT Program Manager for the Office of the CIO. In this role I managed the Infrastructure and Cyber Security programs for the laboratory. From there, I became an IT Manager 4 with the Sensitive and Special Operations Division, working with the DOE Office of Intelligence and Counter Intelligence, and supporting various programmatic researchers. Brought the IT and Cyber Security departments into alignment, improving communication, implementing a certification system modeled on DoD 8140, and providing much needed training to help keep up with ever changing technology. Became Deputy Divisoin Leader and FIE IT Manager in May 2023.
